Grants for Teachers 2016

Longview Early Graduation High School has been awarded a Campus Initiative Grant fromthe LISD Foundation.  The school will purchase ACT Career Ready 101 software package that will teach employability skills to students and prepare them for the workforce.  Students will be able to take the Work Keys test at the end of the course which gives them leverage for hiring with many local companies.
We have also received a Great Rewards for Great Ideas from the LISD Foundation.  The grant was awarded the English/Reading 180 departments for purchase of books to strengthen the reading skills of our students.  We are very thankful to the LISD Foundation for these grants and curriculum enrichment opportunities for our students.
In addition to the LISD Foundation grants, we have been awarded a grant from the following:
Toshiba America Foundation-the grant is approximately $5,000 for purchase of robotic kits.  The science department of our school will be partnering with the Letourneau University Engineering Department to assemble the kits in a weekly physics science lab.  At the end of the project, students will do a campus presentation of their knowledge and skills learned from the project.  We are very appreciative of the Toshiba America Foundation.
Target Field trip grant- to attend a Fine Arts performance in Dallas, Texas. Students will be attending a performance at the Dallas Black Dance Theater on April 8, 2016.
