FPMS 2013 LISD Grant Winners
On Wednesday, March 6, the Longview ISD Foundation, Inc. and Longview ISD hosted a breakfast for the 2013 Grants-to-Teachers Program recipients. At the breakfast, the Foundation announced funding for this year's grant cycle.
Grant winners received funding from the Longview ISD Foundation ranging from $100 to $2000 for innovative classroom projects and programs that will enhance the quality of education for all students in Longview ISD.
This year, the eighteenth anniversary of the Grants-to-Teachers Program, $60,585.97 was requested through 51 grant applications. The Foundation funded 25 grants totaling $35,581.38 The Foundation funded 11 elementary grants for a total of $21,831.82 and 14 secondary grants for a total of $13,749.56.
Since the beginning of the Grants-to-Teachers Program in 1996, the Foundation has funded 545 grants totaling $501,376.05. These grants have enhanced Longview ISD’s academic programs as well as music, art, technology, counseling and guidance, health and physical education, and character education programs.
